If you need a Godparent or sponsor certificate...

Many churches require Godparent or sponsor certificates if you are going to act as a baptism Godparent or Confirmation sponsor.  As the purpose the certificate is to attest that you are at this time able to fulfill the responsibility of being a model of committed, practicing, Catholic faith for the person being baptized or confirmed, the certificate can be obtained only from the church at which you are currently registered and where you currently worship.

If you are currently a registered, church-going member of St. Bernard’s parish, you may obtain a Godparent or sponsor certificate in person, by phone, or by e-mail.  All we need is your name to confirm that you are a registered member of the parish.

If you reside in St. Bernard’s parish, but are not registered or active, we would encourage you to use this opportunity of being invited to serve as a Godparent or sponsor to connect more deeply with your parish and your Catholic faith.  By registering in the parish, worshipping with the community, and sharing your time, talent and treasure with the parish, you can fulfill the promises that you will make at the baptism or the role you will take on as sponsor.  We invite you to contact a priest or member of the parish staff to discuss your role as Godparent or sponsor.   This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
