Charitable Kidz

St. Bernard's Charitable Kidz are a small but dedicated group of young people in the 8th through 12th grades who gather monthly to plan and carry out community service in and around Levittown.  Formed in 2008 under the able leadership of Carol and Ted Blach, this group has conducted food drives, had Christmas parties for our special friends from A.H.R.C., run a new/used coat drive, hosted a "Senior Prom" at Sunrise Assisted Living in East Meadow, participated in the St. Vincent de Paul Society "Walk for the Poor," and raised over $10,000 as part of the "Souper Bowl of Caring," a national fundraising event held every year on the day of football's Super Bowl.  In the Spring of 2009, the Kidz had a great time learning how to prepare and plant potatoes at the Sophia Organic Garden at the Dominican Sisters Motherhouse in Amityville.
