Baptism Notes - Some Practical Concerns
The Day of Baptism
TIME: Please be on time. Try to be at the church fifteen minutes before the
ceremony. ( i.e. at 1:15 PM for a 1:30 ceremony).

GUESTS: We gladly welcome your guests to the Baptism to pray and to celebrate.
We ask that you remind your guests about the need to be thoughtful and
reverential regarding the use of cameras, video equipment and cell phones before
and after the ceremony.
We do not permit professional photographers and/or videographers
during the baptismal ceremony
LITTLE ONES: They are especially welcome! But remember : toddlers and young
children are sometimes difficult to control. Please ask your family to take special
care that young people do not "upstage" the main guest of  honor. It may be helpful
to designate someone to look after the little ones.

You are invited to keep the baptismal candle given to your child during the
ceremony. Along with the child's white baptismal garment ( which is really
sacramental), this candle may be kept in a special place in your home and
taken out on your child's birthday or anniversary of Baptism. It is a beautiful
way of teaching your child the meaning of Baptism, and the gift and
responsibility of living Catholic Faith.

BAPTISMAL CERTIFICATE: A certificate of baptism will be delivered to your home by a member of the St. Bernard Parish Community as a sign of our communion with the Lord and one another. If there is a misspelling or error on the certificate, please notify the Rectory. 731-4220

We welcome into the parish the following new members:
           Gabriella Esquivias                     Gabriella Carmen Matteo

                                Congratulations to the new parents!

which appears in our Sunday bulletin and also here on the website.
Please call the rectory before 5:00 pm on Monday.
Requests for the person in need of prayers should be called in each Monday,
for as long as the person needs prayers, since their names are not automatically
